Hi.

Hey there! It’s been a minute. And, since I’m picking this back up after a while away, I thought I would reintroduce myself. My name is Kara Kissell and I am a musician, writer, teacher and a mom to four little boys.

When I started this blog my first son was 6 months old. We were actually on a little getaway in San Diego when I came up with the name. I remember it clearly. I was so excited for this project. I had been freelance writing for the previous couple of years and I was taking on less work post-baby. But, I wanted to keep writing and interviewing. I love listening to other people’s stories and sharing what I have learned. I love making connections with others. And, I wanted to build a community of parents sharing in their parenting journey.

And I sure did get off to a running start. And loved every minute of it. But as my husband and I continued to move and have more babies, Little Tot Landing slid to the back burner.

There were times when the site had been dormant for months but I would come across a story that I absolutely needed to share, like my niece Kennedy having her baby during the first weeks of the pandemic and my friend Stephanie becoming a gestational carrier. I was lucky to be able to share their stories even when I didn’t have time to keep the momentum of Little Tot Landing going.

But, here we go again. 😊 New interviews, new stories, new babies, new parents, new questions, new solutions. I’m looking forward to connecting with you all on this journey. I have always wanted this blog to be informative, approachable and real. A blog that can serve as a real guide and support. A space for connecting.

And I’ll tell you, I thought there was so much to know with just babies, but we’re just getting started.✨
